About

I started building live edge furniture as fun projects that I could create and design. I have also always had a passion for rock hunting and lapidary work and decided to fuse the two together. My family started Stonewood Slab Works in 2020.  We have worked on several projects which use industrial piping with live-edge, however, most of our time is spent cutting live edge slabs to air dry for future use. All trees are sourced from local storm falls including Walnut, Maple, Cherry, Douglas Fir, Elm and Cedar.  They are then cut and stacked to air dry with anchor seals. This process keeps the natural grain and color of the wood far better than kiln dried slabs. The rocks I have are collected during rock hunting trips from all over the US.  We have found Jasper, Jade, Petrified Wood, Agates and Geodes then slabbed and polished for inlay. My process is artistic and detailed. I want to make sure each piece is a one-or-a-kind masterpiece wherever it may be displayed.
